With 40 years of riding experience and 10 years of teaching riders I have worked in the
horse business all over the United States including Ohio, California, and Illinois, as well as, teaching riding in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. As a college student I spent my summers as an assistant riding instructor at summer riding camps in Ohio. While attending a marine biology field studies program I was fortunate to be able to ride and teach at Chucka Cove Equestrian Center in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. After graduating college I worked as assistant head instructor at Maypine Equestrian Center, a hunter-jumper barn in Ohio. I then moved across the country to California where I took a job as horse exerciser and groom with grand prix jumper rider Hap Hansen who in 2012 won his 100th career grand prix.
Most recently, I founded Acorn Valley Riding. A small riding program specializing in teaching children and novice riders horsemanship.
My philosophy in teaching riding is patience and safety.
